Volunteer co-ordinators forum – 16th September 10:00 – 11:00 (free)
Our volunteer co-ordinators forum brings together people who manage, supervise and support volunteers.
This is a great way to stay up to date with and learn about the best practice around volunteer supervision and management. To benefit from peer support and to network with other volunteer co-ordinators.
The forum is open to anyone who has direct responsibility for managing or co-ordinating volunteers regardless of the size of your organisation and whether your role is paid or unpaid.
The forum meeting provides an opportunity to develop skills and share experiences.
This first forum will be held via zoom and has a limit of 25 people.

Safeguarding level 2 offered by VOYC – 29th September 13:00-16:30 (£25 per person)

Mental Health First Aid Awareness – 6th & 7th October 10:00 – 12:30 (£22 Per person)
These sessions are hosted in partnership with MHFA England trainer Ali Uzzell via zoom and have a limit of 16 people.
This ½ day course, spaced over two sessions offers an introduction to mental health and mental health issues. It’s aim is to enable the participant to increase their knowledge in factors affecting mental health, stigma and its impact on recovery, beginning a conversation with someone about their mental health and looking after your own mental health.
This course will help the participants learn practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues, Gain confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress.

Deaf Awareness – 3rd November 10:00 – 16:00 (£22 per person)
This full day course Deaf Awareness course is offered in partnership with Study Sharp and will include:
- Deaf v Hearing culture
- Summer Deaf Awareness myth-buster quiz
- ‘Watch my lips’ activity & film
- Face me when you talk film clip/discussion
- BSL Alphabet ‘taster’ & Basic Meet and Greet phrases and practice
- Communication Strategies – Dos and Don’ts/tips from deaf young people
- Changing the communication experience/becoming Deaf Aware

Mental Health First Aid Course (including self-study 15hr) – 16th,18th,23rd & 25th November 10:00-13:00 (live sessions) (£49pp) This is an online event is offered in partnership between NDVS and MHFA England trainer Ali Uzzell and has a limit of 16 people.
This is an interactive course delivered through slides, video clips, activities, discussion and case studies, which you will explore through individual learning activities and a series of live sessions.
Live topics include:
- Introduction to the course and mental health First Aid (first aid action plan, impact, stigma and discrimination)
- First Aid for suicidal crisis and depression
- Anxiety, Personality disorders, eating disorders and self-harm
- Psychosis, recovery and Mental Health First Aid action planning
